This week's ZGYM Schedule:
Monday
JRCKX #3 (Beat Your Personal Best)Tuesday
Summer Shred #20X (New in ZGYM)Wednesday
Stretch & Tone Workout #11 (New in ZGYM)Thursday
15 Minute Fit Slide #9 (New in ZGYM)Friday
Upper Body & ABS Inferno #1 + bonus 5 Minute Workout #89 (new in Fitness)Saturday
Killer Legs #7 X (Beat your personal best)Sunday
Stretch & Tone #6 (Stretch your body - ZGYM)
I like it! A NEW Summer Shred, a new Stretch & Tone, a new 15 Minute Slide, a New Upper Body & Abs - plus the 5 minute workout on the same day. There is an extra new workout this week in here - so I like that. You do get a lot for the $9.99 a month from Z. Plus she gives snip-its of the workouts for free on her FB page - all the time. If you don't care about doing the workouts with her real time, you can do them on your own time without being a member of ZGym.
I'm curious to how much of the Bar Method she is going to throw in there this week. I hope not a lot if any at all, but that's just me and my preference.
I wish she would do more with the 90 lb monster bell. But other than the squats and deadlifts, not sure how much more she could do with it. She's pretty creative, so I am sure she will come up with something!
Her latest Summer Shred, #20, is the last of the series - which is a bummer because it is one of her best series. This one in particular, #20 looks BRUTAL! A great overall full body workout. Looks very high intensity and does have some great strength work - more upper body than lower, but looks super, super hard.
Plyo Back Workout?! If you check out my FB page I posted a BACK workout from Men's Health that looks super hard. I am going to try it later this week. https://www.facebook.com/zuzanaorbodyrockaddict Looks great - and hard. I haven't done plyo's for my back before. I have tried plyo push-ups, which always seem to aggravate my shoulders, but this is totally different. I want to give it a shot.
Lastly, here is a great article posted on T-Nation, but written by Bret Contreras. It is all about the BOOTY!
Even if you don't like the weight training program he has outlined here, there are videos included and you can get a good look at the kids of exercises Bret does and recommends. They are no fluff Bar Method or Ballerina Plie Squats involved here! (Yes, I know I am little biased). :)

I DO highly recommend watching Bret's videos. A lot of this stuff you cannot get unless you pay for his programming.
Enjoy!
no New Upper Body & Abs it's the old one :)
ReplyDeleteBummer! I didn't realize!
DeleteI guess Zuzka could try swings with the bell? I've got two 20kg (44lb) bells that I manage to do double swings with. It's only 2lb shy of what she's using. Other than that, I can't think of much else. Maybe throw it.. Haha!
ReplyDeleteNot fussy on the Barre stuff. Seems odd to me that she's into that? Although she seems to do things in phases. I'm sure this will pass too ;)
Love Bret's stuff. Once I'm finished with GMB I think I'll try some of his programs.
I've never tried swinging anything over 80lbs. I don't have access to it anyways. The 80 lbs almost knocked me over, LOL!
DeleteI'm thinking of giving GMB a try - Bret 3 days a week, GMB 3 days. I know they have a handstand press program that comes out a few times a year. I am interested in that one for sure!
Laura, i am new to GMB and purchased his Strength program as my first program. Could you tell me what you are using and how you use it and fit it in to your workout schedule. What do you think of it.
