I got a newsletter from Zuzka today and she talked about a few things including:
I've also been really focused on wrapping up some projects I've started in the past year like opening my new store featuring my upcoming clothing, custom tea blends and weight loss supplement lines. For now though, I'm really proud to share some stuff I've accomplished in the last few weeks... If you haven't already heard, I started releasing new programs on my website! So far I have one for absolute beginners using my Bunny Slope YouTube workouts and another one called the Cardio and Strength Starter Series that is great for those of you looking to lose weight and start taking their fitness seriously.
I like to hear about Z's new programs! Exciting! I'm glad she is into helping out beginners. I once suggested BR.TV's beginner Bootcamp to a friend of mine who was looking to get back into fitness, and she didn't like it because of all the equipment. I will have her look into Z instead. I didn't realize Z's Bunny slope was free at the time.
I'm a little unsure of Z's teas and weight loss supplements? I'm always weary of weight loss supplements though. Let's face it, if they worked, no one would be fat! They are a scam IMO.
Anyways, if you check out Zuzka's FB page she has a couple of fun little workouts posted that are free! and not part of her ZGym. These little routines are always some of my favorites of hers. I love the handstand work, the push-ups with the side kicks, and I love the side crunches into the plyo push-ups. I will try some of these tomorrow.
Have any of you heard of The Betty Rocker? Check out her web-site, FB page and Instagram. She has some great and interesting (and free!) workouts. Let me know what you think.
And speaking of Instagram, check out Jacqui Beyer. She has a leg/plyo routine up there that looks KILLER. She also mentions that in August she will filming new workouts - with Taylor Oakes. Taylor did work for BR and I am not sure if she still does or not, but she's great at what she does, as is Jacqui, so this should be awesome. Can't wait to see it!

Completely with you on the weight loss supplements. I dislike what they imply, and they seem like just another money making scheme from Zuzka. I wonder how she will justify them to her fans. I noticed how people especially want her stuff if she herself uses it. Maybe she'll advertise them as vitamins.
ReplyDeleteI am def curious to see how she advertises this!
DeleteI know Betty, I do her youtube workouts, whenever she posts a new one. ALso I saw that plyo workout from Jacqui when she posted it and it is definitely a killer one! I am probably even afraid to try it :))) She should have done crazy things like that when she was still with BR :)
ReplyDeleteI think Jacqui was not allowed to be as creative as she wanted to be with BR - but NOW she can be! :)
DeleteI have all Betty Rockers programs and did the Lioness program after my hysterecomy to ease me back into exercise. It is a great weight lifting program but i find weight lifting on its own so boring. I like to move! Her Phase 2 was more my style as it did 5 reps back to back of 2 exercises for 10 min. Actually, that style is how i ended up finding Jade Teta's style of lifting. I did her website subscription for a while but it is 20 a month and so i stopped. She did have a great community and answered all questions.
ReplyDeleteWeight lifting gets less boring the more you do it. The heavier you lift, the higher your heart rate gets, the more tired your muscles get, and you embrace the rest!
DeleteI am sure it does! I did not mean it in a negative way and it does not mean that i will never do it, especially if i find a program that intrigues me. What do you think of how Jade Teta's way of metabolic weight lifting
DeleteI have to look more into Jade Teta. I keep hearing good things, but haven't had the time to look into it as much as I would like. He is into heavy lifting done as circuit training geared towards fat loss - interesting.
DeleteI did that workout today! I did it like this
ReplyDelete5 rounds:
Side lunge deadlift with a 60 lbs kettlebell for 10 reps each side
Clean and press with 105 lbs for 5 reps (split the press and the lunge)
The burpee row snatch lunge move for 10/8/6/4/2
The pushup side kick for 8 reps per side
The mermaid (x2) to clapping pushup (x2) for 4 rounds per side
It took me 27 minutes and I was DEAD!!!
Finished with heavy step ups and pull ups (5x8 and 5x5 respectively) with no timer
HOLY SH*T YOU ARE STRONG!
DeleteYeah unfortunately I am also built like a powerlifter :P Lets just say I gain it all: Muscle AND fat, so I dont have to train like crazy to become strong and toned, but to look good i can hardly eat - I think that if it would bore me to tears I would benefit from Zuzkas diet, at least the portion sizes, I dont do well on too much fat either -.-
