The HIIT workouts definitely make me sweat more and get me out of breath, but they certainly do not tax my muscles in the same way at all. I also feel like I'm just going through a work out and not reaching for any kind of goal.
They don't make me feel like I'm getting stronger or making progress in anything specific like in my squats or deadlifts or pull-ups, etc. But with that being said, there's nothing wrong with HIIT.
I just like the heavier weights.
If my lifestyle changed and I was shorter on time you bet I'd do HIIT.
Maybe you're someone who just likes those types of workouts. Then go for it. However, if you've stopped seeing changes then I recommend trying some heavier strength training.
Zuzka posted her latest Summer Shred workout this morning. It starts out with 100 kettlebell swings and she uses her 44 pounder. She does not complete all hundred reps at a time, she does need to take breaks.
Next she does a HIIT routine of 50/10 using a jump rope.
Last she does a time challenge: of 2 exercises: Dive bomber push ups x10 paired with a Weighted Reverse Burpee to Squat heel lift ladder: 10 – 12 – 14 – 12 – 10
This last routine would kill me!
And check out Kate Upton doing heavy hip thrusters! I'm not sure how much the weight is, but I know it is over 100 lbs.

Can I ask if zuzka did a pushup and then do squat heel raise on the 3rd part? And with kb or dumbbels?
