I'm Not Liking The New Direction Of Zuzka These Days, Why Most Diet Plans Fail, Strategies to Avoid Late Night Snacking, Some Interesting Ab Exercises

I'm not sure I like the direction Zuzka has been going in lately. She is all over the barre method. I know a lot of women out there love it, but I'm not a fan. She is using it in the majority of her workouts - even in her 5 minute workout, which should be an intense workout - IMO - if it is only going to be 5 minutes. She definitely seems to be taking things down a notch these days - which is fine, but she is known for her super intense workouts, not for barre!
She even had this to say on her FB page:

Today we're doing the super intense Upper Body & Abs Inferno in the ZGYM so I doubt you'd want to do another high intensity workout for your legs. What you can do are these muscle toning exercises for your butt and legs. You guys have been saying you love that we're incorporating these Bar Method inspired moves and that its been helping you to see results in your legs a lot. I think you can clearly see the difference in my legs as well so you can definitely look forward to seeing these more in the ZGYM workouts.

Wow. A little high on herself in that comment? Clearly see the difference in her legs? (She always looks great, but still) I suppose she has a right to be a bit over the top, but a little humility goes a long way - or at least I think so. But she also says a lot you like her new format and see the difference in your own bodies. So I guess it is working. It is just not MY style. To each their own!

Here is an interesting read from one of my favorite sites on why most diet plans fail - check it out:

And another interesting read on how to avoid late night snacking. Not sure how much of it will help any of you, but check it out. I like #11. Not on the list is - make sure you get enough to eat during the day! This always helps ME the most.

Last, but not least I saw this on Pop Sugar's FB page - and I actually LIKED ALL of the ab exercises! Check this out too:

Happy Friday everyone!

  1. I mean, I did feel like Zuzka's legs were looking a bit more leaner, less bulging muscle. I just don't understand how she can honestly think that bar exercises trump resistance training for legs...I thought she of all people would know how weight/resistance "tones". They're not my cup of tea either.

I am curious what kind of body image Zuzka has of herself. When she looks at her videos, what does she see? I know we all see this muscular superwoman, but how does she see herself?

    1. Z comes across to me as having a very inflated ego. But then again it is an image she portrays to ME via social media. She could very well be extremely different in person!

  2. I am glad i am not the only one not liking the direction her workouts are going. I figure if I want to do bar method i will go to my local bar method. Plus those types of workouts are meant to last at least an hour. I really have not been doing her workouts lately but doing old BR ones of hers and metabolic effect. I also like 12minuteathelete.com for some good hiit. I heard about GMB.com from her and so many of the moves and talk remind me of zuzka's pretty skills that she does. I am sure she has visited his site. I bought his strength program and will practice along with my ME workouts and 12min athlete and oldBR's. I am just notinto zuzka site right now. I may cancel for awhile. Off to read your articles

  4. I agree with everything you have said as well. I remember reading that comment about her legs and thinking he same thing. Haha. I'm not into the Barre thing & really miss the old kick ass HIIT & KB she used to do.
